This 8-day trek takes you through the beautiful Bumthang Valley, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, visiting ancient temples, monasteries, and sacred sites dating back to the 7th century.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Bumthang
Fly to Bumthang. Visit Jakar Dzong and local temples. Cultural orientation.
Day 2: Bumthang to Ngang Lhakhang
Begin trek through beautiful valleys to Ngang Lhakhang (Swan Temple).
Day 3: Ngang Lhakhang to Tahung
Trek across Phephe La pass (3,360m) with stunning valley views.
Day 4: Tahung to Mesithang
Descend through forests to Mesithang village. Visit local homes.
Day 5: Mesithang to Tang Valley
Trek to Tang Valley visiting Ugyen Choling Palace and Museum.
Day 6: Tang Valley to Kurjey
Visit Mebar Tsho (Burning Lake) then trek to Kurjey Lhakhang.
Day 7: Kurjey to Bumthang
Visit Tamshing and Konchogsum Lhakhangs. Return to Bumthang town.
Day 8: Departure
Morning at leisure. Fly back to Paro for international departure.
